Fabric.que

The name Fabric•que is the combination of the textile and the freedom of making (‘fabriquer’ means ‘make’ in French), explaining the fact that the user can make its own furniture according its needs. That project is the answer of a design brief aiming in the creation of furniture for transitional spaces. After analysing these spaces and defining a domestic environment, the conceptualisation phase starts with series of sketches. Experimentations on materials help defining the assembly system and a collection of accessories made of wood and fabric.

Fabric•que is a collection of furniture composed of a metal tubular structure and accessories made of wood and fabric. The user is free to add any accessories to the steel pipe frame in order to answer to its needs of storage in the hallway. This play with the different materials allows to hide the mess with opaque plywood and semi transparent fabric.

This piece of furniture usable by the whole family would be available as spare parts.
