Design Manifesto

I’ve once been said a Product Designer would be the perfect candidate for the Presidential. Weird?… Not really !
The product designer is focused on every social aspects, is curious about new technologies, eager to learn and discover other cultures. Concentrated on user’s well being, the Product Designer is a good listener and is concerned about sustainability. Multi-skilled, the Product Designer knows how to work as a team, with suppliers, craftsmen but can also promote the new concepts.
My working method
My education split between France and UK allowed me to explore different ways of working and thus find my own.
The design process always starts with an analysis of the design brief and a talk with potential users about their needs and expectations. These researches are a real source of personal and professional enrichment. The conceptualisation phase can either start with models or sketches.
The technical knowledge acquired during my studies permits to create viable project for our current industry.
Developing scale 1:1 prototypes allows to constantly step back and reconsider the project while checking functionality and proportions.
Product Designers have to be polyvalent, no matter if they are working alone or as a team. Visual communication, just like marketing and branding are also part of a solid design process.

My academic career split between two countries allowed me to get complementary educations. My studies in France brang me discipline and a solid methodology essential for the work. More theoretical this course was based on the Design History, the material properties and their uses in industry. My education in the UK was more practical. The course was career-centre with projects led autonomously by answering design briefs, prototyping scale 1:1, oral presentation of the project and written report.

Designers I like

I love the poetry and elegancy of her work: between Emotional and industrial.

Charlotte Perriand
I Love her designs with this timeless aesthetic and the importance given to the users. She is still nowadays, one of the best example of 'Human Design'.

I love his work of details and the apparent simplicity of his really functionnal and elegant designs.
